The Bernedoodle is one of the most loved breeds.

What is a Bernedoodle anyways?

A bernedoodle is the cross-breeding of the beautiful (and large) Bernese Mountain Dog and the allergy-friendly Standard Poodle.

So what happens when you combine a Bernese's sweet, affectionate nature with the smarts and loyalty of a Poodle? You get a super-intelligent, loyal, and gentle breed that is absolutely stunning. They are also an absolute joy with their quirky, playful side and leave our household giggling every single day.

Alberta Bernedoodles will be a combo of an F1 (first cross of Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle) and a Australian Bernedoodle (a Australian Labradoodle X with an F1) Farley is our stud and he’s an Australian Bernedoodle. Doing this type of breeding will set the coats and make them allergy friendly and low shedding and the colours and sizes will be more predictable. Our goal is always to produce healthy, beautiful, allergy friendly dogs with the best temperaments. Bernedoodles have a very happy disposition and bring joy wherever they go :)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The standard size of a Bernedoodle is around 21-26 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between 50-70 pounds. The size may vary, and we always include our litter’s anticipated size range with each plan.

  • Bernedoodles can shed less than some other breeds because of their poodle heritage, which is typically hypoallergenic. Like other doodle breeds, this makes them a great breed for people with allergies.

It all comes down to the proper coat genetics and breeding based on those factors.

  • Bernedoodles can live for up to 10 to 13 years!

It is important to care for your dog properly through a balanced diet and regular exercise to help them be healthy and happy. We also recommend NuVet supplements and good quality food (made in Canada). We use TLC and they do very well on it. We have lots of advice regarding food just ask us anytime!

  • Many bernedoodles can be trained for various activities such as agility, obedience, and therapy work.

We do temperament testing with a trainer to help us find potential puppies who show characteristics in favour of a therapy dog, but a strong bond and training make that possible.

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for breeding some amazing dogs and ultimately allowing us the opportunity to welcome one of them into our family - he’s the best addition.”
